Gratitude Sunday

Hmmmm so it's been a few weeks! Time certainly does fly.

This week I am grateful for:

- My new calling at church working with the Primary kids

- Seeing my family this weekend

- Celebrating my little bro turning 18

- Daily photo challenge

- Extra work

- Getting to go to Sydney this coming weekend!

- Celebrating Lewie and Katrina's love...via a reception :D

- 'Date' night with Cat

- Good food

- Daylight savings...despite the 1hr less sleep I got

Gratitude Sunday

I've been thinking a lot about gratitude lately.

I find when I stop and think about things, I realise just how grateful I am to be where I am in my life.

It's nice to occasionally just stop and think about everything that you have right now,

in this very moment. 

Lately I have been grateful for:

- Having a fair bit of work between my jobs, which helps me to be both pay for things and save for travel and other fun things I want to do

- Time with my family. No matter how brief it is, seeing them is worth the 6 hours round trip of driving

- The sunshine; it always lifts my mood

- Friends

- New ideas and inspiration

- Music

- Feeling the spirit

- The knowledge that I can be with my family forever, especially those who have moved on already

- The innocence of children

- One very happy, smiling little girl who I got to hold today

- Seeing others happy

- The ability to let go off some pain that I've been holding on to 

- Being alive

- The possibilities that the future can hold

What are you grateful for at the moment?

30 Years

Today marks my parents 30th Wedding Anniversary!

I couldn't be happier for them.

It has been such a blessing to have my parents married my entire life.

It's been good to see that marriage can be a wonderful experience, but that there are also times when it can be a struggle and takes effort. 

Just like anything that is worth it, it takes effort.

To celebrate, we went out to dinner as a family last Friday.

Unfortunately one of my brothers and his wife couldn't be there, but hey they're on holiday :D

It was really nice to go out and enjoy a meal with my family.

I love the relationships that I have with them now. 

Sure we don't always get along, but things have gotten much better over the years.

My parents aren't huge fans of pictures and I didn't have a camera on the night so there isn't one of them, but I do have one of the gorgeous cake my SIL made.

and being that the 30th anniversary is celebrated with pearls, Dad gave mum some nice earrings.

Congratulations again Mum and Dad! 

Here's to 30 years of marriage and hopefully many more to come!

This week I am grateful for:

- Seeing my family

- Having fun with Janelle and Leah

- Finishing some of my post exam tasks

- Learning how to play a new game

- My car still holding out

- Enjoying holidays

- Extra sleep

- Fun sleepovers with my niece

- Giving things one more try before I have to accept defeat and walk away

- Little things that make it all worth it

- Perspective, perspective, perspective

- Life...and learning to work it all out as I go

Gratitude Sunday...The Mother's Day edition

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!

Not only the ones that have given birth to a child, but to people who raise other people's children too.

I love my Mama, but I also have other women in my life that have been like mother's to me.

I am so grateful to have the mother I do. She is just the right one for me. We've had our 'moments' but all the sweet moments wash those away. 

My mum is:

- the little lady (literally :P) that gives a lot of love

- the woman that gave me life...and carried me around for 9 months :D

- the one I can cry to

- the one who I can call anytime I need anything

- the woman who puts up with my father and his crazy adventures...for the past 30 years!

- the one who would try (often found her asleep on the couch) and stay up to make sure I got home ok when I worked the close shift until 2:30am

- the lady who *sometimes* lets me take pictures of her...none of which I can find right now! :'(

No matter what she will always be my mum!

I love you Victoria! :P he he he

That is NOT ok!

Today I saw this on Ellen.

I couldn't believe what sort of things these bullies did to that young boy.

I know that bullying happens, don't get me wrong, but I will never understand why people

can be so cruel to others. 

Bullying is NOT OK! I have experienced it in my own life and know just how

cruel people can be. Sometimes they're even your friends.

We can't just say, kids will be kids. Because it's not ok to bring others down. 

Especially making comments to someone about killings themselves because no one would care and

it would be better if they were gone.

That is not true. Every person is important. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

No matter wether we have differing opinions, skin colour, races etc. We ALL matter!

So I want to challenge you to compliment and uplift someone else in the next 24 hours.

A compliment unsaid is such a waste. 

Look for an opportunity to compliment someone.

Seek it out if you have to.

We all deserve to feel like we are wanted and loved...because we are!

Baby You're a Firework

Two weeks ago some YSA went to the Hobart regatta to watch the concert that is on afterwards.

My favourite part of it is the fireworks at the end...see for yourself!

There were some absolutely gorgeous ones! I love fireworks!

- The 2 bags a lady at church gave to me

- The bishop's wife gave me stickers to mark my scriptures in

- The kindness of others

- A loving Heavenly Father

- Being able to somewhat get through this course

- Love

- Christmas time! It is the best time of year!!

I could keep going on but I will withhold. I have so much to be grateful for. No, my life is far from perfect. But I am learning to see the good around me.

A Thousand Years

This is the point where I reveal yet again my love for the Twilight Series :D
I heard this song, which is on the Breaking Dawn album, and I love it!

And why wouldn't you??

I am so going to see Breaking Dawn Part I while in Japan! Oh the fun that'll be.
Especially trying to buy the ticket :P

Doctor Who

Oh how I love this show!!

Janelle introduced it to me years ago and I am so very thankful that she did.

3 Doctors later and I'm still loving it :D

My favourite Doctor by far is David Tennant.

Seriously cool season finale :D 

Sadly I just watched the last Doctor Who Confidential. A show which takes you behind the scenes of the show and is awesome for getting all the extra bits we love!!

Because of budget cuts they will no longer be making it :'( Sad face!!

Gratitude Sunday

Ok firstly...IT SNOWED HERE THIS AFTERNOON!!! :D

This might not seem like a big deal...but here in Tassie it is...especially where I live :D

Ok so it's hard to see in the picture too...but I swear it just (lightly) snowed!

This week I am grateful for:

- The snow...while I'm warm inside

- Our fun mexican themed table at the ward activity, "Red Carpet Event"

- Heaters

- Arriving safely to Kat's house...in way more snow!

- Moustaches...on a stick :D

- Videos of my nephew smiling and trying to communicate

- Being introduced to an awesome little cafe...with doors everywhere!

- Being able to donate plasma

- Home-made pumpkin soup with bread rolls

- Reese's peanut butter cups from Nelly

- Canned whip cream...and all the fun I can have

- Awesome Mormon messages

- My parents being married for 29 years today!! Love you Mama and Papa Smurf!
