Courage and Forgiveness

My friend JK shared an awesome quote with me today:

"Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying
'I will try again tomorrow'".

- Mary Anne Radmacher -

And just before that I was reading a talk by James E Faust called "The Healing Power of Forgiveness"

Both things I needed to hear.

It's hard to forgive other people, truly forgive myself and want and gain forgiveness from others.
It is still a process for me and right now I really need the courage to get through it.

Sorry that I've been absent lately (internet failure at my parents) and now you get to hear me blabber on about the trialling stuff, but my life is far from perfect, so I write about the bad too.

So here's to courage and forgiveness!

Quotes and Words...

via

How very true this is!
On Sunday I was thinking a lot about how I want and I think to some degree need to start recording more events in my life.
I want to start writing in my journal again, taking more pictures and scrapbooking more.

I know that this blog is like a journal for me, but writing it down in a book and recording some of my deepest thoughts just seems like something more private and special.

I like to think that one day my children or grandchildren will read some of the things I have written and get more of an insight into who I am.

While I feel far from gifted at writing, I am going to make more of an effort!
Wish me luck :D

How do you see yourself?

Last night I found this picture on Facebook:

I instantly thought it was amazing!
I have the type of personality where I often care what other people think of me. Not all the time, but a fair chunk of it. I hate that I think that way.

This picture made me stop and think for a second.
How I view myself is way more important than how others view me.

It's funny how a simple statement and picture can start a deep train of thought.

Do you ever have these moments?

Oh some days I really feel like this...unfortunately!
But I try to be kind most of the time.

I don't want to regret things...and so I am trying to keep myself motivated to keep doing the things that make me happy and moving towards some of my goals.

I saw this on Catherine's blog ages ago but it popped into my mind today as I was thinking about what I want to do in the future.

There are so many things that I want to do and I know that nobody is going to get me there except myself.

I know that I am not fully happy with how my life is going at the moment. It is part of the reason that I chose Change as part of my theme.

I am however making small changes to help me be where I want to be and heading towards even more things I want to do.

There are so many options, if we but choose to take them and roll with it :D

Fear and Quotes

I realised the other day that I have been letting fear rule parts of my life...
Funny how realisations come along.

The first time I heard this quote was from A Cinderella Story.

Then while watching Criminal Minds today another awesome quote came up...

"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do."
- Eleanor Roosevelt -

Seriously love the quotes on that show!

Now to try and work on my fears and not let them hold me back anymore.
Something that was brought to my attention at Time Out For Women in Sydney a couple weekends ago.

But that deserves a post of its own!

Criminal Minds and Quotes

I have always loved Crime Shows, especially Criminal Minds...not in any weird way, I just love trying to solve the mystery before the show reveals it.

In fact I even thought about going into some sort of criminal profiling type job once upon a time. Other desires overcame this one though and I don't really think I would like to constantly try to think like a killer to catch one.

One of the best things about the show is the constant quotes. Each episode usually starts and ends in a quote. I've just recently started watching from the beginning again...

The very first quote on the show was:

"The belief in a supernatural source of evil is not necessary. Men alone are quite capable of every wickedness."
- Joseph Conrad

What a way to start the series huh?! What's your favourite criminal show?? Or do you even enjoy them??

Change

"Change isn't what I'm afraid of...
it's the potential consequences of change that intimidateme"

I read this quote on my friend's facebook today and I am really feeling its meaning.

Change is both exciting and absolutely frightening!

Wether I like it or not...

Man I need to update my blog! It has been a crazy couple of months and I have just not had the time to spend on my blog...I was just checking my twitter (lisatrav) and I found a quote that is soooooo true!

Best friends: the ones that you can get mad at only for a short period of time because you have important stuff to tell them.

It is definitely true...plus I hate being upset or annoyed at people for too long.

Quote...

In life you're either a pilot or a passenger,
it's your choice - unknown

My Dad is definitely a pilot. I on the other hand kinda feel like a passenger right now...that has fallen out the back and is holding on for dear life. I don't know why but I've been feeling out of it lately.
However I do like this quote :D
