Marilyn Car Art

Pic
If someone would like to do this to my car when it gets a bit more dirt on it....feel free!
It's much better than what normally happens to a dirty car.

Brothers say the funniest things!

Today I had lunch with my older brother and he came out with the most random thing.

He sure was excited for dessert!
"Heaps of people don't know that we're brother and sister. I just hope people don't think we're on a date"

Uh....random!
We don't exactly look alike so a lot of people don't know that we're related and it is really funny when we say "love ya" and get the funniest looks because he's married.

If people thought we were on a date I would be weirded out, because we definitely don't act like it!
Especially considering one of the waiters tried to be flirty and make a joke...which was just really awkward! Seriously seriously awkward!

Oh bro, these are good times.

Hello 300th post!
What better way to celebrate then with Gratitude Sunday!

This week I am grateful for:

- Being able to give a talk (I get so nervous but love learning while preparing it)
- Time spent with friends
- Much needed sleep
- Getting things crossed off my list...makes me WAY more productive
- Going through all my things for a massive clean out
- Starting to change things in my room
- Christening Lady Libs
- Finally getting Kimi all lit up
- Progress
- Being a bit more organised in my callings
- Learning to let things go
- People that take the time to read what I have to say
- The blogging 'community'...it's not as crazy as it may seem

Friday the 13th

So this afternoon I played Lawn Bowles with Kat, Camilla, Zoe, Chelsea, Erica and Fiona...

It was actually fun!
I wasn't very good, but we played barefoot and that made it even more fun.

Then we headed to Kat's house to watch Psycho in the home made cinema.

I was really tired so I missed bits and pieces of it.
Not the famous shower killing scene though! ha ha ha

There were some random and hilarious quotes from it, including:

"I don't know where to start. I guess I should start at the beginning."

"I'm not going in the fruit cellar. I'm not fruity!"

"My hobby is stuffing things."

I seriously lost it a couple of times, just laughing at how random it was!

So Friday the 13th didn't turn out to be all that scary at all!

An old friend

Today while shopping I ran into an old friend who is currently serving a mission in Japan.

Oh boy was I shocked to see this face

Randomly I noticed some guys in suits parking their bikes and I thought..."I wonder if they are missionaries?". Then I noticed the face of one of them and the look on my face must have been priceless.
I was so shocked to see Elder Triffitt. Approximately 1.5 million people live in this city, seriously what are the odds?

What's even weirder was that I wasn't even going to be there when I was. It's a small world!

Glad I got to see him and hear that he is well. Unfortunately his Japanese is way better than mine...having lived here for almost 2 years and all. I chose to just talk to him in English instead.

He seems to have changed a lot. In a good way. Missions have a way of doing that to people.

The Bidet Experience

So...I did it.

I tried the bidet. You know that water that shoots you in the bum...

Not as weird as I thought it would be. But not something I think I will be doing a lot.

I got the courage to try it at my host families..and then it didn't work.

So today I just thought I would go for it somewhere else.

You press a button...and then it comes out from the back of the seat...making weird noises while it does it!

Apparently I could have adjusted the temperature of the water but I didn't know how. Thank goodness it wasn't freezing cold!

I thought it was going to stop on its own but it didn't...so I had to stop it.

Thank goodness I know the Kanji for stop! That's all I'm saying...

Again...weird.

I have been way more adventurous on this trip then any other.

When in Rome right?! Or Japan!

So be honest. Have you ever tried a bidet?

So far in Japan...

Hey Everyone,
Just a quick hello as I don't have my computer with me and am on the school's one.

So far in Japan I have:

- Almost been hit by someone on their bike...fun times :D
- Attempted to speak Japanese, though very broken for an entire day
- Walked for 2 hours around Fukuoka
- Been the only one in the group to bring my host families address with me
- Slept like a dead person
- Dreamt about trying to translate a whole bunch on sentences...and woke up very tired!
- Had a shower, Japanese style :D

Well that's it for now as we're about to have a welcome party.

- We turn the light off in the bathroom while the other is in there because it's on the outside wall
- We also eat a lot of Crust pizza...delicious!!

Eventful Day!

Firstly it was Nelly's birthday today!! YAY! Happy 21st Nelly :D

To celebrate, I took her on a little 'British' themed adventure.

We:

- Went on the Double Decker Bus tour around Hobart

~ Random British facts
~ An umbrella...just in case it rained duh!
Secretly pretending we we really in England :D

- Ate British Candy

- Had scones with our lunch (mine the English Breakfast :D)

That girl is in LOVE with Britain! Loved her face when she found out what we were doing :D

Then tonight from 3-10pm I was working...2 different jobs.
First the kids, then Pizza Delivery.
Got $10.50 in tips! :D Helping out again. I think the store manager wants to hire me...
Also got my car stuck on a retaining wall on the last delivery...LONG story :P

Then Jess and I started a new tradition tonight of 'toasting' each season...literally :D
We are bringing out the Fronti for the first day of each season!

Hello Spring!!

myspace graphic is done on Gickr.com

oh yeah...and I named my Mac... Eve :D Because she has a bitten apple on the front...get it :D

Ahhh to be a kid again...

Tonight I got to hang out with some of the Primary kids for achievement night. It's not actually my calling but Jess needed some help so off we went.

First we got to decorate cupcakes for Darby's birthday...how fun is that?!

Then the kids played Twister.... while I laughed at their funny positions...great leader I know!

I even tried on some midgets teeth...super attractive right?! :D

Ahhh to be a kid again...they are so much fun and care free....well MOST of the time anyway :P

I'm being released from my actual primary calling soon as I got a new calling. So I will be sad when I can't do this anymore... :'(

Mysteries at the apartment...and random texts

Twice since living in this apartment I have gone outside to hang clothes on the line and found a whole bunch of feathers...

SERIOUSLY RANDOM!!

Case in point:

29th April
16th August

The first time it was ALL over the backyard...the second time it was just in one area.
If you can solve this mystery for me...that'd be great!
Coz I've got NO idea what is going on...

To continue the random theme...

I have been getting random text messages from my SIL Jay about my niece and nephew. Which I love because I hardly get to see them.
Eric was very active in his little video and Darcey decided to cut her hair tonight! ha ha

I also get random updates from my friend Kat who is currently in America.
Seriously funny little updates.
You should check out her blog of the journey here

I would have stealthed in better if I was this cutie :D

*Note to self: Work on a better way of getting into the house. Or better yet, ALWAYS take your keys!
