Change 4 Change Jar

So one of my little projects this year is

A Change 4 Change Jar 

I have been wanting to do one for a long time and finally decided to put my new theme to good use.

I contacted Ashley who runs The Shine Project to get the go ahead to do it here in Australia and she was more than happy to have the help.

Essentially it is all about helping students from a particular high school to be able to get partial scholarships towards college. What better way to put lose change to use than helping someone get a higher education.

So as of today, I have officially started my Change 4 Change jar.

My first few coins are already in there...

I may not earn a lot of money but I can put my change towards a change in someone else's life.

Once this baby has $100 I will send it off to Ashley to be added to the next lot of scholarship funds.

So if you ever stop by my house and see this jar, you too can make a change and add your change.

A Sister Missionary

One of my very good friends Makere left today to serve a mission for my church.

She'll be gone for 18 months and is serving in New Zealand.

It is weird because it doesn't really feel like she's gone...

I'm sure it'll hit soon! At least I'll have someone to write to...snail mail style :D 

I can't wait to see how she changes :D Love you girlie!! 

An interesting little day...

It's been a full on busy day!

- Slept in today...oops. Really need to stop doing that! 

- Once I got up we had some primary kids over as Jess is the Achievement day leader.

We:

- watched The Muppets: A Christmas Carol

- Had a candycane hunt

- Had fish and chips for lunch and chilled at the park

- After the kids left Jess and I attacked the weeds that have over taken our garden

- I got sunburnt :'(

- Was really tired from spending so much time in the sun and accidentally fell asleep

- Woke up 15mins before I needed to be at work...Lucky it's just down the road!

- Worked from 6-11pm

- Went to the supermarket for a quick shop before Sunday

- Now I'm watching The Holiday and getting ready to sleep

Jam packed and full on! It feels good to be busy again...besides study!

Gratitude Sunday

This week I am grateful for:

- Trials to make me grow

- Beautiful weather! Some days anyway :D

- Kat being back

- Talking things out...not too good at this but needed to

- Getting rid of the ants...win!

- Mum, Erin and Darcey visiting :D

- Good relationships with my siblings

- Giving service...despite the weather

- Slowly getting things marked off my 101 in 1001

- An awesome fireside after the YSA fast breaker

Service, Footy and GG

The day began with a service project for the YSA...you can read about that here as it marked another one off my 101 list.

Then this afternoon I watched most of the AFL Grand final with Kat, Jess and Dave at Kat's house. 

Had a meat pie and everything. Glad that Geelong won.

And now I sit here watching Gilmore Girls with Jess and Kat. You have to love them!
