Rain, rain, go away

It has been raining all day...and continues to rain now.

Enter cute little piggy...with gumboots on! :D

I like listening to the rain...but working in it is a totally different story!

For 3 1/2 hours tonight I delivered pizzas...in the rain.
Oh and I got $1 tip -_-
Tipping isn't customary here...but come on people! I brought you you're pizza, still hot, to your door and spent most of the night drenched.
As Janelle said "It's raining, you're a girl and you still only got $1?"
My thoughts exactly! :P

I also have a service project in the morning, planting grass, outside...so if you could put the sun out for a while that would be fantastic!
Or be so bad we have to cancel...I have a lot of assignments ok!! ha ha

Either way, I am not looking forward to doing it all again tomorrow night in the rain.

World Wide Web

You know how there's all these awesome things going around the web...well here's a few I liked
over the last little while.

Elizabeth over at E Tells Tales had an awesome video about Caine's Arcade last week
about a little kid with a big dream.

A catchy...and slightly annoying song

This meme on facebook

This hilarious fail of an audition...Jess and I couldn't stop laughing!

Have you found anything inspiring or funny in your web searches this week?

Blogiversary

Hip Hip Hooray It's Blogiversary day!
It's been 4 years since I first wrote a post here on L!$@'s Life.
Weird...doesn't feel that long ago, and yet I have changed so much since then.

It's funny how my writing style has changed.
The things I write about have shifted as I've gotten older and changed the things that affect and interest me.

I like that I don't try to fit a particular mould, I roll with whatever is going on in my life.
The whole point of having a blog is doing what you want to do with your little space of the internet.

There are going to be a few little changes around here in the not too distant future.
Change is good and allows us to grow.

So here's to 4 years of having fun here on the blog, and many more as they come!

Go and eat a cupcake or something for me.
I enjoyed some choc-chip cookies for the occasion :D

And as always, thanks for reading!

Tender Moments

On Sunday I got to hold baby Milly (a friend's daughter).
She is the cutest little thing and has SO MUCH HAIR! It's adorable.
I couldn't help but be mesmerised by her face and the cute little sighs she made.

I have always loved kids. Being around them, caring for them and having funny little conversations with them.
It sucks not having my niece and nephew close so it was nice to get to hold a (not so) little baby.
I have always been clucky and you can say what you want about it,
but there is something about an innocent little baby.

Especially with it being Mother's Day my thoughts turned to my own mother.
I often wonder what she was like with me when I was little.
Seeing both her and my dad with my brother's children gives me a little glimpse into what it was like.

I then thought about my Father's parents. My pop who I never met and my gran who died when I was too little to remember.

Then I thought about my mum's father, who passed away when she was only 6. As well as my nanny, (mum's mum) who has dementia and asks me the same questions every time I see her.
It has taught me a lot of patience, but I still lover her! :D

I am so blessed to have the family that I do.
I know that not everyone gets that and it makes me even more grateful.

Always keep your loved one's close!

Gratitude Sunday...The Mother's Day edition

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there!
Not only the ones that have given birth to a child, but to people who raise other people's children too.
I love my Mama, but I also have other women in my life that have been like mother's to me.

I am so grateful to have the mother I do. She is just the right one for me. We've had our 'moments' but all the sweet moments wash those away.

My mum is:

- the little lady (literally :P) that gives a lot of love
- the woman that gave me life...and carried me around for 9 months :D
- the one I can cry to
- the one who I can call anytime I need anything
- the woman who puts up with my father and his crazy adventures...for the past 30 years!
- the one who would try (often found her asleep on the couch) and stay up to make sure I got home ok when I worked the close shift until 2:30am
- the lady who *sometimes* lets me take pictures of her...none of which I can find right now! :'(

No matter what she will always be my mum!
I love you Victoria! :P he he he

Sorry I couldn't be home today!! Hopefully you had a wonderful day!

Getting close...

So the exam timetable came out today....

I have never had a Saturday exam, the first exam and I hate afternoon exams.
So naturally I have the first exam...which is Saturday morning...and my last (hopefully) exam of my undergraduate degree is in the afternoon.

Lucky for me my last exam will be for my favourite unit this semester.

I am now making a list of assignments and study that stands between me and graduation...

I WILL get it all done and graduate!

Even if I don't do the walk until December so my parents can be there :P
