An old friend

Today while shopping I ran into an old friend who is currently serving a mission in Japan.

Oh boy was I shocked to see this face

Randomly I noticed some guys in suits parking their bikes and I thought..."I wonder if they are missionaries?". Then I noticed the face of one of them and the look on my face must have been priceless.
I was so shocked to see Elder Triffitt. Approximately 1.5 million people live in this city, seriously what are the odds?

What's even weirder was that I wasn't even going to be there when I was. It's a small world!

Glad I got to see him and hear that he is well. Unfortunately his Japanese is way better than mine...having lived here for almost 2 years and all. I chose to just talk to him in English instead.

He seems to have changed a lot. In a good way. Missions have a way of doing that to people.

Well Lisa, what were the odds. Still it sounds like it was awesome to actually see someone that you knew all the way over there in Japan. They say there is only 7 degrees of separation and it is a small world after all.

Oh wow! You have to love random moments like these. They really make me believe in fate, kismet, serendipity... all that good stuff! Great picture!
